TEAM CHARTER APPROACH

Each class will work together to establish an agreed upon team charter. This document will identify the best practices, conflict resolution strategies and all related ethics and moral guidelines we agree as a team, to uphold. Similar to the foundation of a solid home and house rules, this document allows each member of the classroom team to better understand what is appropriate and what is not. In addition, we review and understand how best to live the L.U. vision and school mission. Supporting and respecting each other to create a positive learning environment.
As a team of Faculty we discussed and determined what the best practice would be for the categories and the weighting of each category. This ensures that at LU we are aligned and support the whole child development. By the 2nd week of school all students have read and will understand the weighting and categories. This information is to assist the student with managing the work and their success. There are 6 categories and the weighting or percentage of the overall course grades is listed below.

Weighting for SOCIAL STUDIES

Assignments     10%
Tests                  35%
Quizzes              25%
Projects              30%

PARTICIPATION will be reflected in ALL categories:
This category reflects the students abilities to focus in class, demonstrate appropriate behaviour and to work in teams in a positive and productive manner.
